Are you planning in shopping

I did it a few times in my 20's
I think when I was 24 & 25.
{Before I knew better}
What I went for they didn't have
what I ended up buying wasn't on sale
oh, and the lines to buy... took forever!!

Some people like the thrill
and the hunt for the best deal
and I can respect that.

but getting up at 3am
to be at a store at 4:15
so you will be at the front of the line
when it opens at 5am
isn't my idea of a fun day!

Any Who..

Favorite Fridays!

I see a lot of Blog's have theme days
and I wanted to start one!!

So why not

I will tell you what my favorite things or products
are right now and you can tell me yours!
I think it will be a fun way to get new ideas.
Especially with with holiday season fast approaching
maybe you will the the perfect thing for
that last person on your list!

My first favorite is...
What girl doesn't like nice smelling candles?
With a husband who is in construction and 2 dogs,
it seems like I always try to have
a candle burning in my home.

My all time favorite is
Archipelago Botanicals
My favorite scent right now is Positano.
A close second is Dubai and
my hubby's favorite is Havana.
They are available in all sizes of wax candles
but we prefer the 60 hour jars.

I have been known to leave these candles, unlit,
in my cup holder in the car.
They are SO YUMMY smelling!!
Coming in a close second is

I have a few friends selling these
and they seem to be everywhere now!
If you don't know about them,
I will try to explain a little..

Your purchase these little "bricks"
for about $5 each

and then you heat them in these cute "warmers"
{they have about 30 designs to choose from
and a few different sizes}
as I recall... they range in price $15-$30

The good thing about this alternative is
#1 no flame. so if it tips over no fire will start.
#2 temperature. it only heats up to about 100*
so if little ones hands get in it, it wont burn.
#3 smell. they have a ton of smells to choose from
and when you want to change the smell you just pour the
wax back into the container and drop in
the new brick of the scent you want.

Its as easy as it sounds!

I cant wait to hear and see what your
Favorite Friday selection will be!!

I cant believe I have already posted 100 times!

I am still pretty new to the blog world and
have just recently enjoyed finding other fun blogs to read.

I hope to continue to entertain with many, many more posts!!
Happy Blogging Bloggers!!

The Human Body

This was sent to me by my Father-in-law
very interesting and a little funny!!
It takes your food seven seconds to get from your mouth to your stomach.
One human hair can support 3 kg (6.6 lb).
The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.
Human thighbones are stronger than concrete.
A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.
There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.
Women blink twice as often as men.
The average person's skin weighs twice as much as the brain.
Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.
If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.
Women reading this will be finished now.
Men are still busy checking their thumbs.

Coast Storm!

As some of you have heard there was a little
wind storm yesterday at the beach..
The power went out at 4pm and 24 hours later...
still NO POWER!!!

Last night after the power went out and I locked up the gallery
I took a little drive to see what was going on in CB.
I came across this flag going crazy in the wind.
Right after that I came across a down power line

This morning I woke up to check out the town to see if I could
spot any damage that might have happened...
It didn't take long to come across a news crew
in front of this house..

Tolovana Parking lot

I thought this was a pretty photo of the sky
and over flowing creek..
This is a tree down in a neighbors yard

a little flooding

The road up to Ecola State Park

If you click on the photo below you can see on the right side of the door
a crack that goes down the whole door!
I stopped here for a beverage on my way back to my moms Monday night,
the doors were opening and slamming because of the winds,
this door cracked with the powerful winds
posted on the front doors of the elementary school

back at my mom's house
one of her VERY heavy planter boxes blew off the deck

The worst damage was done to her flag pole
It snapped in half!!

Elk Creek
Generators brought into town to help get power back
This is usually not the best sign,
as they are planning its going to take a while to restore the towns power..
HWY 101
this is a normal thing for us
the HWY usually closes about 3 times a year for flooding
but I have heard this is the highest the water has been in 20 years
from several police officers in town
I hope the coast gets back to normal soon!

{Women's Only Weekend}
Was this past weekend in Cannon Beach
I recommend it to any group of girls trying
to get away for the weekend!

Saturday most of the stores closed at 5pm like usual
but then at 6:30pm about a dozen stores re-opened
and the fun started!!

A few of the fun things we went to were:

Bruce's Candy & Laurels Wine Shop
Truffles and Wine

Sesame and Lilly's
Cheese and Champagne

Ter Hars
Pizza, Cookies and Beer

Dena's Shop on the Corner
Meet balls, Cheese and Crackers
and Spiked Cider

Purple Moon
Shrimp, Lobster Rolls, Crab and Artichoke Dip,
Chicken Skewers and Wine..
the list could go on and on with the spread at PM...

A few other places had mimosas and manicures,
flower arrangement classes, appetizer classes and several other events!
I did miss out on the pajama and hot coco after parties,
but I was with my husband and let him off the hook at the end of the evening
(and the U of O Duck Game was on!!)

Most of the stores offered discounts and specials..
Its always in November in Cannon Beach
usually the second weekend.
check it out if your able

With nothing better to do today..
I looked at a list of "work waster" web sites
I found in a magazine from this month.
Some were pretty good and others, not so much...

Here are the ones that I think are great!

They look like cakes I could make,
and that's NOT a good thing!
defiantly check out the Wedding Cakes

I think the title explains it all

It list books that should be "weeded" from school library's
mostly cause there out dated..
usually makes me crack up!

Paranormal Activity

{I copied this from Perez Hiltons site}

Hoping to bank on all you movie lovers a second time around, the folks behind Paranormal Activity are offering a special gimmick to get you to buy the DVD.
If you visit the movie's website, you can submit your name to be included into the "special thanks" section of the credits for the film as a thank you for making it such a success. You'll get to see your name scroll across the screen of a fairly minor major motion picture once the DVD and Blu-Ray disc comes out.

Who wouldn't buy a DVD that had their name in the credits?
A bunch of smart cookies you are, distributors! Ringing in every last cent from people!

what can I say...
Its warm, relaxing and always fun!
We love, love, love it!!!

Dylan and I have now spent well over a month and a half of our well earned
vacation time in the warm country to the south of us.
Every time we see the hotel in Cabo its an {exhale} moment.

We are very luck to have my mom,
and her great taste in timeshares... lol!
She owns at the Westin Hotels.
I have never visited a Westin I didn't like...
We stay in suites (or the "Club" as they like to call it)
just to the side of the Westin along the water.

This is the Hotel..
Its breathtaking every time we see it!

Just arrived..
beer in hand!

Here are some photos of the hotel and club..

Hotel Punta Colorada
This is where Dylan went fishing for the day...
I will post his photos later..
Call me crazy...
{boys, tequila and bumpy waters}
didn't sound like the best situation for our new camera..
Tommy took the photos that day =)

or Halloween!
depends where your priorities are.. lol!
I really didn't know what we would be doing that day
but a big whoops on my part..
I forgot my duck shirt!!
Dylan was stopped by so many people that day.
saying "go DUCKS"!
"wow, your going for the underdog, huh"?
It was fun to tease back and forth.
After we got back from eating dinner in town,
we were on the search for the game at the hotel...
Unfortunately that little playoff they have in baseball
at the end of the season was on, ugh!
The sports bar had all the TV's on the World Series..
After a little sweet talking the bartender he told us we could change 1 TV,
if WE asked the people sitting at the one by the bar..

They moved, but not easily.

"you want to watch, what" the wife said
"the USC, U of O game" I replied "its kinda a big game in college football"
"sweetie, this is kinda the biggest game... in the WORLD.. Its the world series!"
she said, holding her martini in one hand and pointing
with her finger at the TV with the other hand.

After a little more conversation, they moved to the other
side of the bar where the TV's were all on the baseball game..

Dylan proud of his sweet talking wife
Dylan made a little scene with the duck win!

Its a fun little bar in the middle of nowhere...

We ate most meals here!
Its so yummy and fresh =)

Also know as having,
The Largest Selection of Tequila in the WORLD!

The BEST Mexican coffees!
yes, for breakfast!

Rattle Snake Tequila?
The Trailer Park Restaurant
The one in town on the hill, not the one on the Highway...

Every meal is better when started with a Margarita!!

The Lobsters are no joke
They are always over 2 1/2 lbs!!!
yep, that's 1 lobster!!

I got up to watch the sunrise on our last morning!

On our last day we drove out to Shell Beach
Its kinda in the middle of nowhere...

These cactus were SO big we had to stop and take photos!

The water was so pretty!
light green into a dark blue...

Piles of shells were everywhere..

It was a quick 5 days...
We loved every second of it!!!
