Hummer Happening

I'm at my moms house tonight all alone,
(she is already in Mexico.. lil stinker..)
and I decided to look at some old photos I have on her computer,
I came across these...

They are from the Hummer events we went to a few years ago
when HUMMER was a thriving company.. lol
We went to several events in the NW
but our favorite were the ones they had in Reno, Nevada

We trained with Rod Hall
He has raced and won the Baja 1000 several times in a Hummer H3
and his son Chad Hall
Chad trains Marine Special forces to drive H1's

We would spend a day learning how to drive the courses we were about to go on
The "what to do" and "what NOT to do"!
Day 2 and 3 we would split up in to groups and drive courses they
set up for us in Reno and Virginia City.

Here is Dylan leaning on the Hummer.. ready to go!

If you click on the photo below its pretty neat!
This was a SUPER steep hill we drove down.
I remember this trail vividly...
One of the Hummers slid to the side and they had to go help him..
The guys from Hummer thought he was going to roll it!
Everyone made it out safe!
only a few flat tires from the sharp rocks.. lol!
Fortunately nothing ever bad happened to ours =)
They were such Fun times!

New Camera

I have ISSUES...
Well, camera issues.. lol!
Dylan and I purchased our first digital camera right before we got married.
I am now on camera #5!
I have broke them all by dropping them...
You would think I would learn my lesson after #2 or even #3!
Nope, I guess not...
On the bright side the keep getting cheaper and the
mega pixels keeps going up!
So in true Risley form, I chased our kids (dogs) around to try it out!
Here are some cute photos of the little ones!

We are buying a case for it soon to hopefully this one will last a while!

The Great Pumpkin

Even though were not going to be here on Halloween we thought it
would be fun to carve some pumpkins!
Yesterday we had some friends over to watch football, have dinner and carve!
I think they turned out REALLY cute!
Here is mine!

Here is Dylans!

and Tiffany and Adams!

Happy early Halloween!!!

While Dylan was doing some demo on a building downtown
last week he found this Coke can in a wall.
After a little research..
Its from 1967!
There are 3 cans from that year
The first had a flat top with some ridges along the edge
The second has a pop top
And the third is the first aluminum can..

The one Dylan found is the second one!
Its made of tin!
There are little details in the can that you can see
that determine what year it is from..
It was a neat little find!

Dear family and friends..

"Dear family and friends of Dylan and Risley, you have been invited to share in this celebration of these two lives beginning joined in marriage. Dylan and Risley are especially grateful that you could be here with them today to give them support"

Yes, those are our wedding vows.
As most of you know Mayor John Williams, the man who married us,
passed away very unexpectedly last year.
His wife, bless her heart, was going through some of his things and came across our typed out,
word for word, our wedding vows.
She left them at my gallery yesterday as I was covering our new store in Seaside.
People say some of the best gift we receive are free...
This is one that I will treasure FOREVER!
as some of you are reading this,
think about your wedding vows..
do you remember them?

To the Moon!

I guessed I forgot to post these photo from last week... Oops!
Last Friday Dylan and I set our alarm for 3am
and headed down to OMSI.
The played the Moon mission in the planetarium!
It was really neat and very educational.
Here are some photos of the morning!

I think if you click on these you can see them a little better...

Thermal image

Here is the filming of the rocket right before it hit!

Unfortunately.. the camera went out 3 seconds before the rocket hit..
such a bummer...
It was worth waking up super early just to people watch..
The "crowd" that went to OMSI...
a little on the, science geek side, lol!!

Earlier this week I surprised Dylan with a
while were in Mexico!
It was a "late" anniversary present!
I just looked up the web site and it looks pretty cool!
He will be going on it with Tommy for a boy's day!
My mom and I will probably go to Shell Beach that day..
some of you know about that =)
He is pretty excited!
Heck, were all pretty excited about 85 and sunny weather on sea or land!!

Saddle Mtn Hike

With such wonderful weather were experiencing
Dylan and I decided to go on a hike today!
I have REALLY wanted to Hike Saddle Mtn for a while,
When you start the hike your at 1,650 feet in elevation
and the summit is 3,283 feet..
In the 2.5 mile (each way) you go up pretty far, pretty fast!
I'm not much of a hiker, but this is a great hike!
If you ever get the chance to do it
I defiantly recommend it =)
Here are a TON of photos of the gorgeous hike!

On Oct 3rd we made our way south to see the
Ducks cream the Cougars!
Here are some photos of the day!
Getting ready to make the trek south!!
Tailgating in Eugene
just outside Autzen
Katherine with "The Duck Nut"
Dylan and me with "The Duck Nut"

The new Oregon Duck plane....
if you click on it you can see the "O"
